LET'S TALK ABOUT IT

A numerous amount of twists, an impossible mission, a well desgined world and a group of hetergenous yet very likeable characters :Leigh Bardugo clearly knows the recipe of a great fantasy novel. Everthing begins in the winding streets of Ketterdam where the young, sarcastic and  mysterious Kaz Brekker accepts the mission of the rich seller Van Eck: to deliver a savant in the "Ice Court", probably the most well guarded city. Accompanied by 5 other young people, that each serve their own intentions and capable of doing anything for money, Kaz embarks on a suicidal mission  which could unleash an irreversible chaos...



A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT :


"Written by Leigh Bardugo, a young adult novelist, 'Six of Crows' was released in 2015. It marked the beginning of the Grishaverse, a universe explored in four other books by Leigh Bardugo. Over 2 million copies were sold (I personally understand why).
It was adapted into a Netflix series called 'Shadow and Bone', which does not follow the exact plot of 'Six of Crows' but is more of a mix of all the books in the Grishaverse."

WHAT TO READ IF YOU LIKED SIX OF CROW


"Well, I would probably suggest you take a look at the 'Game of Thrones' book series if you enjoy a well-written fantasy universe and some charismatic strategic minds, but I would not recommend it to everybody. It is a little complex, and if you don't want to think too much and just enjoy a nice reading session without having to look up names from the first chapter every two minutes, I'd recommend 'Zita the Space Girl', which is a comic book about space. You might be thinking that it has nothing to do with the Grishaverse, but I would argue that 'Zita the Space Girl' is about young people living incredible adventures in another universe."

  LET'S TALK ABOUT LES CAHIERS DE DOUAI I'm not a big fan of poems and poetry, but I had to read Les Cahiers de Douai for school this year. I have to admit that I quite enjoyed it. What I loved the most about it was the story around this collection. Did you know Arthur Rimbaud was only 17 when he wrote it, and it is a pure masterpiece? He also wrote it during two runaways to Belgium (he was French). I loved how, as a teenager, he denounced social issues. A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT ABOUT LES CAHIERS DE DOUAI As I mentioned, Arthur Rimbaud wrote Les Cahiers de Douai when he was 17 years old, in 1870, during a time when France was at war with Prussia. Life wasn't easy, and people couldn't express themselves freely. Napoleon III, an emperor, was ruling the country with an iron fist. The collection is composed of 22 poems in 2 books.
