Everything about : CHARLOTTE

Image
LET'S TALK ABOUT IT Such a beautiful portrait of the heart-breaking story of Charlotte, a German painter who died during the Holocaust. She gave her doctor her drawings, saying, "C'est toute ma vie" ("It's all my life"). David Foenkinos, haunted by the memories of an artist, made sure that she will never be forgotten by going in search of her. A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT "Charlotte" is the 13th book by David Foenkinos. It is inspired by the life of Charlotte Salomon, a German painter who died in Auschwitz in 1943. This novel won the Renaudot Prize and sold almost 400,000 copies in 2014. It was adapted into a series in April 2020 on BBC Three. 5 WORDS TO DESCR IBE IT "Effortlessy brilliant...tender and devastating"   Guardian Books of the year WHAT TO READ IF YOU LIKED NORMAL PEOPLE If you en

Everthing begins in the winding streets of Ketterdam where the young, sarcastic and  mysterious Kaz Brekker accepts the mission of the rich seller Van Eck: to deliver a savant in the "Ice Court", probably the most well guarded city. Accompanied by 5 other young people, that each serve their own intentions and capable of doing anything for money, Kaz embarks on a suicidal  mission  which could unleash an   irreversible c haos... A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT : "Written by Leigh Bardugo, a young adult novelist, 'Six of Crows' was released in 2015. It marked the beginning of the Grishaverse, a universe explored in four other books by Leigh Bardugo. Over 2 million copies were sold (I personally understand why). It was adapted into a Netflix series called
