everything about INDSIDE AND BACK AGAIN

Image
LET'S TALK ABOUT INSIDE OUT AND BACK AGAIN I loved Inside Out & Back Again. It overwhelmed me with all kinds of different feelings: anger, sadness, laughter, kindness, but mostly nostalgia. In her book, Thanhhà Lai makes us recall childhood memories we never truly experienced. It feels real, though. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a new childhood, a reminiscence of a past they never had. A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT ABOUT INSIDE OUT AND BACK AGAIN Thanhhà Lai is a poet from Vietnam. She mainly writes children's books, but I think everyone should read Inside Out & Back Again at least once in their lifetime. She now lives in New York with her family. Inside Out & Back Again won awards such as the National Book Award. WHAT TO READ IF YOU LIKE READING INSIDE OUT AND BACK AGAIN If you enjoyed reading Inside Out & Back Again, I recommend reading Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. I don't think I'll ever stop recommending it. It's great, i

If you are learning French or are interested in French literature and culture, you should read it because it features a mix of poems from mostly famous poets, and honestly, they're some of the best. So, if you want to impress others with your knowledge of French, I highly recommend reading it. There are questions at the end to help you better understand the poems, as well as paintings related to the poems, and more insights about poetry and its history. everything about LE DERNIER JOUR D'UN CONDAMNEE

Image
LET'S TALK ABOUT LE DERNIER JOUR D'UN CONDAMNEE I needed to read this book for school. I must admit I didn't like it much at first, but in the end, it is so well-written. I guess you might appreciate it even more if you know the whole story behind it because, indeed, its author, Victor Hugo, fought to abolish the death penalty. The book recounts the last day of a man who is about to be executed. He experiences a range of emotions like guilt, fear, and anger. A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT ABOUT LE DERNIER JOUR D'UN CONDAMNEE This book was published in 1829 and is presented like a diary—the diary of a man condemned to death. There have been a few adaptations in cinema, as well as in cartoons. It received a lot of criticism because Hugo's views on the death penalty were not shared by most of society at the time. WHAT TO READ IF YOU LIKED READING LE DERNIER JOUR D'UN CONDAMNEE If you enjoyed reading Le Dernier Jour d'un Condamné, I would recommend you read Claude Gue

everything about LES CARACTERES

Image
LET'S TALK ABOUT LES CARACTERES I hated reading Les Caractères by La Bruyère, but I love the stories behind it and the themes that are addressed. It is a well-written criticism of 17th-century society. It describes the hypocrisy of the aristocracy and the French King’s court. I also enjoyed his thoughts about war and how kings and royalty should manage it. A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT ABOUT LES CARACTERES La Bruyère only wrote one book ( Les Caractères —duh!), but it took him 20 years to finish. He first published it as a translation from the Latin characters of Theophrastus. He then added his own observations and continued to publish the same “translation” with more and more remarks. He was actually describing what he saw because he was a teacher in the royal French court, but he lived there unhappily. WHAT TO READ IF YOU LIKED READING LES CARACTERES Really?? You really liked it...?? Anyway, if you did because of the criticism and irony, I think you should read Candide by Voltaire, a
